Can you renovate Saddles?

    Hi looking for new Markets and going for some training but wondered as I am surrounded by them if you can restore re finish or re colour?

    I could have made a fortune when I ran stables - we had upwards of 30 in the tack room and most were pretty manky.

    Trevor what is the avg price for a saddle, they look like an expensive item but would people really bother.

    Andrew they range from £25ish on eBay to £1000+ in the shops !

    I would think a 1k saddle would be a moderately priced one. From memory they were about that for an English saddle around 20 yrs ago.

    A girl was leading a very nice Welsh cob down our lane and she said she had bought it at Hereford sales for £150 ready broken to ride.
    Several more went for £100 or so to the meatman.
