A Real "shaggy" Rug

Nowadays this rug doesn't suffer too much from soiling, however it still comes to me every 3 months for a full emersian clean, mainly due to smelly dogs & 1 old dog that likes to wee on it!
I know that some say they have a shaggy rug to clean, but how shaggy is shaggy?

This one's about 5" tall & thick!
Rinsing is mulit-directional with a handtool & always comes up a treat

I regularly clean three like that at 'Rotweiler Manor' (my name for it). They have three rotweilers, three staffies. For obvious reasons the rugs are always well 'dogged' (one of the staffies likes to hump them)..
