Cupboard Burning

Why would this happen? Cleaned oven about 4 weeks ago and now this has happened to cupboard that housed the oven. Customer has said not related to clean and i also dont think its related to clean as its in the centre of the oven part.

faulty/broken thermostat would eventually do that with the lower element glowing hot and not shutting off at the correct temp. usually a combination of a few factors, broken stat then eventual breakdown of the insulation, hope they had a working smoke detector
this is when you need to be careful with the scraper around the thermostat bulb

there could be many reasons this is caused, as mentioned above, faulty parts, thermostat, cooling fans, thermal cut out, but to me it looks like a old appliance lower element burnt the insulation causing the base to get hot, looks like grease build up which would help this burn, very lucky that it hasn't caused a house fire,
