Ink stain on cotton rug

Make sure you know whether it is a solvent soluble ink or water soluble.

This could be problematic. You could solubilise the ink quite easily but there is a significant risk of it spreading. You will get to a point where a stain will still be visible but no more ink will be released/removed. You will then need to use advanced stain removing procedures and products to bleach the remaining stain with subsequent risks involved. Cotton, being very absorbent, makes removal that little bit more challenging.

I would suggest that the customer contacts her home insurers. She can insist that you're the man for the job or you can just provide a written report with pictures. No guarantees and everything to be charged appropriately.

Safe and happy cleaning:smile:
