Wont drag this on, as obviously not worthy of a guess, although had over 116 views!

It is a Post.. a door post. The leather is a draught excluder on an Oak Entrance door 500+years old.
The property is a Medieval Farmhouse, and by the location of the studs nothing else has been attached since, although now the leather is cracked, dried and splitting. It can be replaced with like for like with 2.5mm hide cut from a side, and dyed the same and domed studs replaced. A long job, the leather will need to be 'cased' before, that is moisture applied to turn the edges, but satisfying that something of age can be again kept for another xxx amount of years.
Oh and how you get these jobs???
By having a great connection with like minded colleagues who are willing enough to recommend your work.
