My top tip for the day is always carry a trap and bungee straps. Hang the tarp over your back door and hold in place with the bungees. Kept me nice and dry today in miserable weather but also gives some cover in the summer if the heat gets too much.
I will say hello first as this is my first post, I am really glad I found this forum as its great to get hints and tips from other oven cleaners.
So here is my tip , I use one of these Ebay Link:www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351224542941as I have a shoulder that wont fully stretch and it is also great to get in back corners and between upper elements with its thin neck .
I came up with a corker and it worked brilliantly. I struggle with my eyesight and wear glasses but I still find it hard to see the holes when putting the fan plate back on. Well it came to me last night, tippex, I put a little blob on each hole and when it came to relocating the plate they stood out a mile. Easy as ABC.
My top tip for the week as I haven't posted one for a while.
When you put the fan back into place make sure its 100% bone dry, if you leave moisture on it the centrifugal force of the fan spinning will 'fling' for the want of a better word any moisture outwards towards the element and connections area. This can cause electrical shorts and if you are using caustic cleaner it will result in the chemical being left to dwell on the element..which is not cool.
A very bright LED Torch will illuminate the oven enabling you not to miss any dirt and cut down your cleaning time by saving you blading/scrubbing areas that have no dirt.
Using a LED Torch, if it looks spotless with one, you know when the customer checks using the oven light it wont show any dirt whatsoever
When removing the control knobs and they are really stuck I use this as it give even pressure that a screwdriver doesnt Ebay Link:www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231485900730
