Hi guys,
My sister and I have been running a commercial cleaning company for the last 10 years and we're thinking of expanding and employing people.

We currently charge £25/hour in our area (South East) however looking at the prices of hiring, I want to be paying someone a fairish wage around £13/hour and I'm worried the margin won't stretch that far at our current cost.

Does £30/hour seem expensive or might that work? It's so hard to get a handle on how much competitors charge as they always want to see an office before quoting, I don't blame them! I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm undercharging at the same time..

Absolutely, bumping up to £30/hour sounds fair. You're offering quality service and fair wages, which matters to a lot of customers. Plus, you gotta cover costs and stay competitive.

Thanks Steven, that is reassuring. I suppose I can see whether anyone bites first and always adjust accordingly.
