LTT Leather

The changing face of leather

Judy Bass

LTT Leathercare
The finishes used on leathers has always set us great challenges in the cleaning and furniture repair industries. Staying up to date with what is going on in the market is imperative and leather recognition (or at least finish recognition) has never been more crucial.

One challenge was the development of 2 tone leathers (one colour on top of another) which caused problems when the top colour came off and required carfeul colour matching and pattern replication.

The latest challenge, this week was a 4 tone leather (yep!!) 2 base colours, a top speckled coat and a tinted finish!!! The top colours were coming off when cleaned and we had to find a solution for replacing them. It took some time but we eventually worked out a way.

Anyone considering cleaning or repairing leather needs to keep themselves well up dated with the latest products and techniques that are available, have good product support and really understand how to achieve the best results.
