Extension leads

Hi all
Up til recently I've been using pretty standard cables from diy centres to run the Scorp when I leave it in the van. They always get hot & on a rare occasion trip (due to heat build up) or even worse on one occasion tripped the main board in a house. Yes I know these new boards are a little sensitive but even so it's very embarrassing!
I called a nice bloke at Essential Solutions who did some math for me with regard the ampage of the Scorp's power ouput & drop off voltage over a certain distance (pretty clever stuff).
Long story short...I now have 2 15m artic blue leads that can more than handle the output.
Put it into practise & returned to the clients house where I'd tripped the curcit & presto no problem.
To me £54 was money very well spent. So no more cheap reels for me
Same applies if you've a heater on the porti as well as that's an instant3KW drain.

I did this mod from day one of scorpion ownership - it was NVW who suggested it - never had any problems at all. This artic blue cable seems to be good stuff.

If I am correct, the blue cable is rated at a fullup 16 amps. Similar to caravan hookup cable. \It will take a good load without overheating.

Never leave any cable in a coil, always unwind it to lay in long strands. It will generate induction currents and all sorts of funnies if in a coil and will rapidly overheat. I have seen a 13a extension melt in 5 mins with a 10-12a load. Gets quite exciting.
