First Belt.

First belt made today using oak tanned leather.
Rather pleased with the result, saddle stiching is something to be awed at especially fine stitching at 14 holes per inch!

Hi Jonathan.
That is today in Tanner Bates workshop in Dartington, Devon.
He uses traditional oak tanned leather from Colyton, Devon one of the last tanneries to use traditional methods since Roman days. It is such a tactile subject, and such a massive add on to the Leather course with LTT at Judy's. The courses are individual and very intensive, but extremely rewarding.
