Tank Size

hi all

We have the opportunity to acquire a reach & wash/RO setup to expand our services in the new year.
It is within a Vauxhall Combo van and is a 500ltr baffled tank.
My only concern is the weight of a full 500ltr tank in what is effectively a small van.
Can anyone advise on max size/weight of a full tank in regards to vehicle specification?
Obviously would need to be carrying other items as well as tank And don't want to end up ruining suspension etc.
Thanks
Kev

Think you'll find the load capacity varies depending on model year and wheelbase. Best way is simply type it into Google I.e. Combo 09 lwb load capacity.
Just the water (assuming full tank) will weigh 500kg, tank itself will probably be 30-40kg, then there the RO, hose reel and then all the other usual equipment.
Need to check if the load capacity given includes the weight of drivers and passengers as some do some don't.
Then make sure it's bolted down properly and has it got a full steel bulkhead as in a head on you want some protection

1ltr =1kg as pointed out above , other points to note is check with your insurer on price for having the tank fixed in the van as this can make it dearer / crash tested systems etc will need to be declared as you can imagine a poorly fitted system can crush the driver in a smash and if not declared may effect your cover .
Also if your unlucky and over weight / payload and get caught (taken to nearest weigh bridge )there's fines there also .
Quick Google says combo has payload from just under 600 to just under 800 and the newest ones up to a ton . Most window cleaners will put the biggest tank in and allow for extra with fuel passengers and gear but not allow for much else so I'd guess that's same for the van your looking at - you can always just half fill and load your other gear it too though like carpet cleaner / gutter vac etc if your worried .
