Using To System

I've recently got an RO system but my water pressure is rubbish. I'm getting 2.4 bars of pressure which is about 34psi.can I get a 1000 litres tank then get a submersible pump and pump it through the RO that way? Thanks guys.

You need a standard Shurflo pump the delivers around 80 psi.
Submersible pumps will not deliver the pressure- they are flow orientated.
I have the same problem and just boosted the mains pressure. 1000 lt a day no problem.

1stly what size is your ro ? If we don't know that we can't help tbh . If you've a 300 or 450 gpd to unit - it will be sloooow very slow as a trickle from the pure end . If you've got a twin 4040 ro it will be Mutch much faster 290 quid spend or 1500 quid spend that's the difference . Get an ibc tAnk leave the ro running to that and pump that water to van once full . A small ro unit can not be forced to make masses of water over its rated capacity .

It's a 450 gpd unit. I only get about half a litre a minute. The guy who sold it to me said I need 65 psi of pressure for it to work correctly. We're on a water Meter too. My water reading is 150 so using quite a bit of ressin.

You should not be useing much resin at all ? Those small ro units normally give pure outlet readings of around 5 to 10 ppm if yours is higher than that you need new pre filters or worsecase of you bought it used may be membranes are shot . To be honest about half s litre s min prob right . On those like I said above run it non stop to a 1000 ltr ibc tank and cheap transit pump to van so you always have a store of water . Regards water metre the smaller r o like yours should have a 1 to 1 ratio pure to waste or there abouts so every 1000 pure gives a 1000 ltr waste the bigger r o do produce more waste to pure but are faster .

Sorry didn't make myself clear. I'm not using the RO system I'm using the resin alone at the moment. My reading straight out the tap is 150 TDs.

Oh well yes in that case you will be chewing through the resin . Cheap ibc tank 50 quid submersible pump and inc hose 50 quid and leave your ro running filling the ibc up and once you fill van top the ibc back up. You'll save s fortune in resin and that ro left on for 24 hrs or so will fill the ibc - what you save on resin will more than offset the cost of a little extra waste water on your bill - some times you can get ibc tanks for free if you ask or next to nothing anyway .
