Hi all
Just had a big kck up the pants recently that has bought to light the importance of not only telling EVERYONE in the house that carpets/ hard floors will be slippery but using the yellow caution signs as well.
Fortunatly the gentleman was ok & certainly did not wish to take it any further but I felt sooo guilty. I'd told his wife but hadn't realised that he was hiding in the study until I heard a thump from below.
I now have my signs in very conspicous places

Big lesson learnt

Steve,

The University of Life teaches lessons that are well remembered!

In addition to these signs I frequently place rubber-backed slip mats in areas where hazards are greatest and additionally print A4 (landscape) warning notices that I can place at eye-level - and leave behind.

I was helping a mate out with the NHS 'deep clean'
We had signs at every entrance and taped the stairs off. Yes- you guessed some prat of a staff member stepped over the tape and abseiled down the stairs at 20 mph.
You never know.

Lesson wasn't learned quick enough years ago SHE was looking in jewellers at wedding rings, "that's nice she says" "YES!" I shouted as I was listening to the radio and United had just scored.

Silly Shaun, silly United both losers on that day.

I've noticed something about human stupidity since I've had my truckmount.

I did a job in a curry house today, on a fairly busy high street with many pedestrians. I had my double ramp laid over the hoses coming from the machine, smack in the middle of the pavement so there was only a couple of feet either side of it towards van and building respectively.

The restaurant has a full glass front, so I had a grandstand view of the all the idiots walking AROUND the ramp, stepping OVER the hoses. Some of them even had the gall to look back and scowl.

Plenty of these people were perfectly able-bodied but some were doddery old pensioners, a couple even lifted their shopping trolleys over the hoses!!!!!

It was only the young mums with pushchairs that actually worked out what the ramp was for.

Human stupidity surpasses itself every day. :dou:
