We went on judys discovery day and was well worth the day out .

If I had the drive I would definitely attend training there you would make the money back in your first month easy.

Ps a lot there on the day had been before get your self up there Steven it's only a hours drive

Thanks everyone for the replies.
The discovery day does sound great.
In all honesty the reason im holding back from investing in leather (training/products/time) is that ive never once been asked. That said i dont offer or advertise it either.
How many jobs a month do you guys get for leather generally?
Clearly a few are doing well out of it.

Unless you tell people you can clean leather they are not going to know!!
Generally consumers do not equate leather cleaning with 'upholstery' cleaners as they see it as something different
Leather should always be marketed as in individual part of your business to get the results and not just as an 'add on'

Hope this helps

im very interested in adding this on to my carpet cleaning, iv been asked a few times and turned the work down as i want to do the training first then go on from there, add it to my website/van graphics etc etc, i need to find details of training courses available and cost, and also very interested in knowing what sort of demand there is for this work?? It does seem a more natural progression than adding oven/gutter cleaning etc etc, any info re training courses welcome.... i thank you.....

When I went on the Discovery Day I had a great time, so much information to take in, met really nice people, what has stuck in my mind was at the end of the day, No one was rushing home. Judy and her team were still answering questions an hour after it finished.
I know it was an hour cos soft lad Julian boxed me in with his van.
I can't recommend highly enough LTTs Discovery Day.

Steve the really important bit is learning what is cleanable and what is not and thereforeis a restoration job.
The problem arrises when you talk to a customer with a pigment coated sofa and tell them "Yes we can remove that grey look on the seats" when infact it is the finish damaged and in actual fact you are lookung at leather hide" or worse you put an inappropriate cleaner on an aniline or pull up leather and stuff it up. For me cleaning leather is great. I tend to not do much restoration as people tend to not want to pay the price I want.
hope this helps
