Just wanted to say thanks to Nick and the team, this "Gum-off-it" is fantastic stuff not for removing gum but everything else! I have had a curry stain, some thick black sticky stuff, dryed in pickle and a couple of others
anything I cant shift with anything else I just put some of the gel on, work it into the stain and then extract 9 out of 10 times it just vanishes.

I like this forum, it is frequented by some of the most knowledgeable and helpful people in the business, the solutions team included.

When I read posts like this however I always wonder whether they are genuine or just blatant product promotion.

I know I am an old synic but posts like this actually make me suspicious of the motive and thus product.

Why does the poster not just thank Nick via email or over the phone?

Not knocking Solutions products or people. All products I have used to date have been great and the advice and service from solutions also great.

My point is that when I read posts like this I can see where the critics get fuel for their fire about this forum. A lot of them ultimately stay away, which is a shame because in my experience this really is the best forum for solid dependable help and advice.

 So it gives you the "cringe factor" too?
Admittedly I've done it myself but like Michael it's soley because I think I've found the new wonder product & want to rave about it.
I don't believe there's any blatant marketing ploy going on although at times it does seem like it, I just think that if you have found something/ anything that's great then why not tell people who may be struggling along with something else?
Strange thing is, is that you rarely hear of other products being raved about so much from all the other suppliers on other forums. Ok we've always got the "nuclear hallacaust" boys & their amazingly toxic chemicals but no-one really shouts about good products & spotters that have made their lives easier?
I think the main differance is because so many others make multi purpose products (ie: a juice & dye remover is also their T & C stain remover but in another bottle) just to try & make a few extra quid! Nick seems differant wherby his spotters are varied but they don't have 3 dye stain removers in 3 differant bottles that all contain the same chemistry, which is quite refreshing really.

Yes the "oh I love this one" is worthy of cringe but one mans cringe is anothers "oh wow I never knew that".

Well gents, this is not a blatant promo for solutions but I wanted to say on an open forum thanks and for others to know and maybe take a look at this product. better to spend you hard earned cash on something that does work than something that does not.
The main reason for posting is the product is called "Gum-off-it" you would not normally use it on anything else or buy it for anything else but I had been given some good advise to try it on a few other things, it has worked better than expected and has proved good to have in my arsenal products but not just for gum.

If you don't express how you find something works how will others benefit, it also works the other way, if it was no good I would say so.

They stay away because the praise is for something they do not use or like .......... easy to be a critic when you have never seen the product but far better to give praise where due.

I don't worry about the rants on 'scream it up' at all ........ I fart if I want to hear an ____!!

Well just to balance things out i use "ridagum" which i thinks is the best thing since sliced bread, Solutions product may be as good but not tried it yet !
So much stuff about, it was commented on "the other forum" that we all have too much stuff in the van and that a handful of chemicals is all that is required, food for thought.

Jim,

Solution Chewing Gum Remover ( http://www.worldofclean.co.uk/index.php?productID=640 ) is a similar formulation to Rid-a-Gum but Gum-off-it is an entirely different technology but without trying it you will never know the difference.

Regarding the variety of product carried, the majority of the product I have on the van are rarely used but they are available to me for the exceptional instance. Just because on the vast majority of jobs I use nothing other than M-Power, I am not prepared to cripple my scope by reducing the range.
