So contrary to previous posts I have decided to add leather to the services we offer. The main idea is for John to take it as a specialisation. I will also be learning (cos I’m nosey).
The issue I am having is that after testing, I don’t really see a huge market, or any to be fair, Clearly there is seeing as many others are doing well at it.
I come up in the first page of Google for it, so it must be something that I don’t know about. Anyway, before I invest in the training and kit, I need to see some reasonable market.
Answers on a post card (or PM) please.
Hi
If you specialise and actively market your business, practice your skills and widen your markets there is a massive amount of work to be had. Remember 50% of all furniture sold is leather so there is a huge amount of leather to be refurbished as well as car interiors, aircraft, yachts etc. it depends where you want to pitch your market
We offer mentoring for as long as you need it after courses to help as much as we can.
So..........................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........................................
After 'a long time a coming' the bag was finally returned to it's owner, a little concern crept over me when I rang the doorbell, I stood there, bag in hand, as the door opened, the face looked at me, looked at the bag and broke into the biggest grin I have ever seen. I don't think I have seen a happier customer!
Mr Roger Mann, an ardent cricket fan, collector, was, I think, in ecstasy.
A few days later he informed me that he had comprised an editorial to go into the Herald Express [Torquay Local Paper} and the editor, a friend of his, will be publishing in the next edition.{Article attached}.
So chuffed I am!
This was a BIG challenge to take on, and the time I took over it was needed, to think about 'what if I did this' but with the cleaning skills acquired over the years, and LTT's products, the end result was well worth it. Added to that a few new courses in stitching, and making leather goods have highlighted my new love of Leather.............long may it last.
