I agree with John.

We have had two now. Use them only on stairs. They have a HEPPA filter and are light enough for Donni to use. 6m cable very useful.

I can't find them for less than about £40 though.

They are lasting about 6 -8 months, so I think it's good value, probably putting 20p on a set of stairs.
Actually, we have had 3. We have one that we had for two days and a piece of carpet wound its way around the brush. This had the effect of unscrewing the nut at the back under the housing.

I can't find a tool to get the screw out, otherwise it would be a simple fix.

Any ideas. It has a little triangle instead of a slot or a star. My local repair chap does not have one either.

As Paul says the Hunter is just under £40. I have one that I use on upholstery and it works well. You do have to keep the Hepa filter clean otherwise the input airflow to the motor reduces dramatically and you will get overheating. You can tell if it getting too hot from the exhaust air around your hand, so the best thing to do is stop, clean the filter then run it for 30 seconds or so with the whole dust collection assembly removed, the motor then takes in fresh cool air and the temperature drops significantly and you can then use again as normal.

That is exactly what we do. It does say very clearly on the instruction how important it is to keep the filter clean or over heating will result.

Clean after every job, it's a quick job.

I used to run a Hunter and I got so tired of cleaning the filter, typically 4 or 5 times for EVERY suite, that it found it's way into Dusty Bin.

Or perhaps I clean dirtier suites than most:thinking:

Safe and happy vaccing:smile:

Ken,

Instead of binning it you should have saved it for curtain cleaning. Its light weight is a boon for above-shoulder working.

Fortunately, my number two has time to clean it.

By the time I have cleaned the stairs Donni will have cleaned the bug, tidied (again) the van, advised the client on protector and drunk my tea.
