That's why I raised the question initially...there is an Oreck Orbiter and Oreck XL pro (not the Hoover) both of which from what I've read are great for agitating carpets...I can't seem to find specifics ref power, size of head etc etc of any ideas Ian...?
I've been won over by the orbiter for encapping most of my domestic work , the only problem I have is
• it's to fast
• and to easy
just doesn't seem right after those years of hwe dragging a wand and hoses upstairs
I use the Floormac and find it great. Never had any problems with the drive board coming off, it works well. Some say they don't like the switch being on the machine rather than the handle but it's fine for me and have never thougt 'if only the switch was on the handle my life would be complete'. The only issue I have had is the switch when I first got the machine came loose and the power connectors dis-connected. I had to dis-mantle the machine to sort it which isn't difficult. The real problem was the switch is a 'press fit' in the housing and didn't locate particularly well. A good application of adhesive has fixed that once and for all. A good machine and I would buy another should I need to.
Myself and all my men have a hand on the T bar with thumb controlling the switch, the second hand holds the shaft. None of my men would entertain the switch anywhere other than on the handle as it would slow them down too much.
