Is M Power any good for cleaning glass?

Hope I'm not treading on anyones toe's by contributing to this thread but thought I'd share my experiences of MP on glass. We "sacked our window cleaner about three months ago (the reasons are not relevant) and I started to clean our windows myself. I used MP diluted at 1:200 and applied to the glass. Just used a normal squeegee to wipe of the residue. No dwell at all and the result is vastly supperior to any other window product I've ever tried. I also use it to clean the shower cubicle glass. Gets rid of the soap scum really well and easily. Seems to leave an almost "waxed" finish as any rain water appears to bead and run off much as it would on a waxed car. Hope this helps a little.

What's STS steve?


I tried adding 8ml of M-Power to 25 litre barrel of pure water (000ppm)
the TDS reading went up to 013ppm... unfortunately I didn't get to test it on some glass, so with the cold weather the m-power in the water might be rendered useless..

It'll be interesting to see whether the TDS reading goes down once the m-power has bio-degraded over the next couple of days..

Don't worry about the TDS reading. The dissolved solids that cause a problem are largely dissolved mineral that will leave deposits on the glass, whereas the nano-particles of M-Power will not leave a visible deposit.

Thanks, I'd hoped as much..

I wonder if the active colloid matrix of the m-power would cause a higher reading on the TDS meter which measures conductivity?

Or is it just a case that the meter is picking up the physical dissolved solids of what ever is in m-power?

i have tried this and it does work, i fired my window cleaner after trying it as it worked so well, ive also washed my car and trailer with m power left over from a carpet cleaning job and it did a great job on the alloy wheels and left the glass streak free
would it work with other solutions products such as fusion 8 ?

i tried fusion 8 on the side of my trailer and about 6 months on it still doesnt need washing, i dont see why it wouldnt work for the car as some polishes use a silicone or some type of polimer to repel water and dirt and the left over Fabric 8 that i tried on the trailer side seems to still be working after all this time and bad weather

It's more on the windows that would concern me as the residual effect could impair vision or affect the windscreen.

i see what you mean steve ok i dont think ill be trying that, although m-power even at 100-1 dilution does a fantastic job on the windows i have tried it on, it even got the green slime on the window ledge off without having to scrub, just rinse with the garden hose

john are you using it with a water fed pole system, so far i have only tried it on the windows in the house when i have left over mpower in the sprayer, i use a 100-1 mix for carpet cleaning and thats what i used on the windows, it did a great job of the windows and the pvc frames, and like i said the green slime on the window ledge just disapeared when i rinsed the windows with the hose pipe. probably not the best way of doing things but it saves me poring the old mpower down the drain and saves me arround £10 a month

I only clean my own windows!

Using the very weak mix in distilled water I simply spray on, agitate and squeegee off - no rinsing, so no mineral residue!

Excuse my ignorance, but could you use it without distilling the water? And after you agitate it, does it need a short dwell time? I probably should read back in the post but it has been a long day!

The distilled water gives it a streak free finish, you can use standard tap water as I do but just make sure you squeegie well. Same results.

It's about the TDS. Tap water contains disolved minerals and other solid that would result in 'spotting'. Agitation is minimal, mainly just to spread the spay evenly with a little more attention to bird deposits and dwell time is only as long as it takes to pick up the squeegee.

even at the dilution rates used for fabric cleaning M-Power does not foam. At the very lean mix used for glass it is only detectable by the results.

I don't think samples are normally available but you would need to ask Nick @ Solution.
