Leather Id

Hi.

I'm new to leather cleaning and am just testing the water with my contract customers to see how much work I could get from them. I have my first job on Tuesday and have ordered some products from LTT who also gave me some great step by step advice.

As a pre-training guide I would be very grateful for help, pointers and thing to look for to help identify what type of leather I'm working on and if it is genuine leather or not.

Does anyone have a list or chart perhaps that could be e-mailed across?

Info@perfectfinishservices.co.uk.

Many Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan
Why not give us another call so that we can help!!!
We have a consumer guide on our website which is a good place to start but training is crucial to avoid very expensive mistakes - contract cleaning can be very varied as many different types of leather are used and the furniture comes up against some pretty harsh treatment so selecting the correct products and cleaning process for each type of leather is also very important.

What type of leather do I have?

This of course points you to consumer products rather than trade but we can help if you need more advice.

We do have leather samples in 2 formats for sale which are great for helping with Leather ID

Hope this helps

We are looking at doing an extra training course in September 23rd - 25th due to demand if you are interested. You could do Day 1 on its own if you just wanted to cover cleaning processes and Leather ID
Cheers

Hello Neil
Our Discovery Days are not courses as such but an introduction to what we do and demos of we products, systems etc. these are free to attend.
Our full courses are 3 days and cost £500 + vat or you can do Day 1 only which is Leather ID and cleaning and costs £200 + vat.

If you want any more help or info please do not hesitate to give us a ring.

Hope this helps

Hi Judy

Thanks for the above information and the link, that is very helpful. I will give you another call after the bank holiday weekend for some further help and to purchase some leather samples.

Also im hoping to do the 3 day training but it will have to be early next year as I have several other courses pre-booked taking me to the end of the year.

Many Thanks

Dan
