Pi**ed Right Off Rant

This kind of thing does not happen to me often at all, today I had one of my new customers text me to say thank you for the cleaning but looking forward they will no longer be needing anymore cleaning.
It was a very nice polite text message but she is obviously not happy with the service I'm pi**ed off with myself because it was one of those jobs that just go wrong from the start, the first day I was going round to quote I had so much on that I totally forgot and had to re arrange for the following day...totally unprofessional, then the first clean I turn up and the shower turns out to take up double the time I thought it would, it was really bad but I hadn't seen that at the time of quote, the shower doors were not affixed properly and came off their runners during the clean, falling on top of me and left a hairline crack in the shower tray, which I was not aware of until she informed me.... Again completely unprofessional. Not only that but her Hoover would not work at all from the moment I turned it on meaning I couldn't Hoover the floors properly this is the only peive of equipment I ask my clients to provide but I'm starting to think it would be easy to just get my own, the amount of shit hovers I have to deal with does my head in.
2nd clean and all goes well until, I get to the shirts that she wanted ironing... Why I agreed to do them I don't know and inclusive of my hourly rate, I don't normally do ironing and I shall not be again
Got half way through them and her iron starts leaving black smears on the top, because it needs cleaning...ok I should have checked it was clean but to be honest it didn't occur to me. So all in all shit.
Cleaning wise I left the house immaculate, I'm guessing she had just had enough of all the stuff going wrong.
I'm upset as it just is not like me. :dunno::down:

Thanks,
Should have known better, been doing it long enough now not to make silly mistakes but I suppose we can't be perfect all the time.
I take all my work really personally and it genuinely upsets me when I am not able to deliver a professional service.
I will be going out tomorrow, doing my days work then putting leaflets out to try and get myself in a positive mindset

We all want to please customers and give a exceptional service .
but somtimes you have to know your limitations.

I never guarantee anything ,no stain removal no odour removal ,no sock fluff , urine stains .

I dont waste time on situations that are going to take long periods of my time , and if i do find myself in jobs that are not panning out for me or the customer then i politely bale out .

as time goes by you will come to realise these jobs , as Trevor said lessons learnt .

you posted before me , leafleting is costing you money find someone to do it while you do other marketing

I have had a few complaints when I first started but then I knew what I was doing and I was ok.
Well last week I did a fantastic but the customer was not happy I went above and beyond to try and make her happy but I could not make her happy.
I felt really bad for days but now I look at it as a learning curve, you will learn from your job to

Deep breaths we all have days like that. Remember the 3 F's Find them oh no hang on that's something different. As above learn from it and move on.

Oh and get your own Vacuum as Lee said, other than that have a great weekend.

Agree with James.....have a van all knitted out with vacuumes cleaning solutions caddy's etc - carpet cleaners don't turn and use what's under the sink so why would you.. I love all my kit and I know how it works and how to get the best from it and I would walk from a job rather than use their kit or cleaning products :goodday:
