Trying To Locate A Leather Restorer.

As I do not carry out leather repair work, I only undertake cleaning, I am posting this here as a very long shot, in the hope that some one may be able to help.
I had a query from a lady recently who needs her suite restored. I told her that I was aware of a chap in County Sligo who had done the course with LTT but his name I cannot remember just now. Perhaps some one reading this post may have done the course with him and may remember him. I merely want to pass his details on to the lady in question so she can contact him directly.

I did ring Judy's office today Alby, unfortunately did not get speaking to her. The person who took my call was of no help to me. Perhaps Judy may come to the rescue.

I had a similar requirement to yours Fintan earlier this year, as I had done a lot of work for a particular client who had a leather chair that needed restoration. I contacted Judy gave details of the job, its location and if she could suggest one or two people who could do the job. Answer zippo. In the end to help the client I had do a search myself and found someone but I had to tell them I had no personal experience of their work. By contacting LTT I had hoped to be able to recommend someone who I know would do a good job, but sadly not.

Please let me clear this matter up

We do not usually give tech names out to people - we have to be careful about data protection even in our field of training technicians
Our general rule is that we ask for photos and customer details so that we can locate the nearest technician who we know can do the job and pass the details on - not all technicians cover all the types of work required and it is our reputation on the line too so need to make sure that I am sending someone who is qualified to carry out a good job. I cannot do this unless I see photos
We receive many hundreds of inquiries about work and do not take any fee for passing work on but it does cost us a lot of time in admin work so please understand that we cannot always sort everything out

John I am sorry but I have been unable to trace any emails from you so apologise if you felt we had not contacted you
Fintan if you get your customer to email photos across with her details I will see who we have in our database

Cheers
Judyb

Sorry, Judy, she is not a customer of mine, just someone who rang me to see if I did leather restoration work, I told her I would try to find a number for the technician in Sligo for her as he would be within a reasonable distance from her. She had apparently contacted a restorer in Dublin but his travelling costs for a round trip of over four hundred miles would naturally be high. Just like yourself Judy I would get no financial reward from this ,I was merely trying to help the lady to find a technician nearer to her. Your reward ,on the other hand would be the supply of the materials which your customer whom you supply in Sligo would use, if we could only find him. The Dublin based tech does not use your products bye the way..
Anyway, we are getting nowhere so I will leave it at that.
