Hello all , i have been running my new company now for three months and working with a lot of local agents carrying out End of Tenancy cleans and looking for some advice on which cleaning products to buy for limescale as it seems every tenancy clean i do the the tenants have let the limescale buildup and its really hard to get of even after leaving the product on for 5-10 minutes , all though i am only using domestic limescale remover at the moment. Also muold seems to another problem area in bathrooms and inside of washing machines any advice on which products to buy would be appreciated thanks Matt

Hi Matt, For Limescale on taps and heavy built up areas I usually break it away as much as possible then finish with astonish paste, Also astonish paste on shower screens applied with a micro fibre cloth. Pretty much the only thing I have had results with on mould is bleach left as long as possible.
For toilets with heavy limescale I find a rubber glove and removing the bulk by hand the most cost effective way.

Try Solu-Clear on the bathroom mould, fairly strong...leave for 5 mins & scrub off, does a great job!
With washing machines as we're all using cooler water, smells & mould will build up quicker, just chuck some Final Phase in (ratio it out for 2 gallons of water or aprox 30ml) & put on a 60 degree cotton wash (takes about 2 hours so put on first thing), then it's just a simple drawer removal to wipe it over.

Quickest way to remove bulky limescale from white toilets......brick acid! Pour, watch & flush all within 2 mins!! Do not use it on coloured bowels or stainless though!

Johnsons Lifeguard limescale remover works great. Can be used neat for heavy limescale and diluted 1:100 for keeping ontop of things

Chris,

If you don't remove most of the water first you will dilute the HCl, rendering it less effective.

The alternative would be to buy a more concentrated acid so that the residual water would dilute it to working strength.

The solution offered by Nick is not only far safer but far more cost effective.

I use Lidl limescale remover & if that doesn't work I use harpic toilet cleaner 100% limescale remover. on taps it eats it away scour it on and wash off within a minute or two so as not to tarnish taps

Nick - do you list the products / items available for general cleaning somewhere else? I can't see things you've mentioned on the website.

I've always used selden ACT toilet cleaner for limescale works on toilets stainless steel safe so does taps and shower doors even does the tiles without discolouring the grout. Put it on leave for about 5 - 10 min depending on build up then rinse clean costs about £10 for 5 litres well worth it!

Yes , Act is very functional and safe
You can use it as a floor cleaner in toilets and showers as long as you dilute it first .

It's also a good deodoriser
