Leather Cleaning

I am posting this here so that everybody will probally see it.

My son is coming to the end of his A levels and will be joining us full time in a few months.

He already has some good expericnce working under supervision with us.

What we are thinking of doing is having him specialise in furniture cleaning.

Not a huge problem with the availible training courses and us to watch over him as far as fabric is concerned.

The thing we are really looking to get him trained up on to a very high standard is leather suite cleaning.

So I am looking for a little advice.

1. Is there really work out there for leather cleaning. I never get asked (but then I don't advertise for it).

2. Who does the best most comprehensive course for this, with back up. I.e. someone to call after the course.

We don't have experience with leather cleaning, so he will need to have the very best tuition and backup.

Thanks guys.

Paul, go to the Leather Cleaning & Restoration pages.

Here you will find all you need.

The best instructor in the U.K. by far, (in my humble opinion), would be Judy Bass.

Contact Judy and she will do the right thing by you for your son.

:goodday:

Judy does the course in a dedicated workshop at her commercial premises in Harrogate, and, as other will testify, Judy is there for ongoing support.

There is certainly work out there, I don't think there is enough if he's just cleaning though, depends on your area and how far you go I guess.

Leather cleaning is fairly straight forward, I would get him trained up in repairing and restoration of leather as well, Judy's courses will give him everything required.

As well as training in leather cleaning/restoration I would also be thinking of some management course (if he has not already done that for A levels). I think the business we are in is ideal for a younger person to grow into. Plenty of challenges and, promoted correctly, I think there is good ways to earn a good living.
