Hi Bob it clovers own plant /food cleaner.Also a glug of vanquish will do just as well in boiling water..

As you know ive only just started the past few months . Ive done quite a few ovens these past few weeks and nearly evey one has said about what machine do you use !!!!
Why does every one think you use a machine for inside there oven ,A sandblaster :P ?
Just wondered how many of you guy have had this same question or is there a machine i dont know about .
And why is the roof of the oven such a pain in the back side .. Enjoying it though its been good .

Just wanted to say thank you for this post, you have inspired me to comment for the first time on this forum.
I've ordered my rack tubs from Lakeland, but wondered if you let me know where you buy your solabac and vanquish from?

Hi Donna i get them from dowding and plummer in Birmingham but if you go on the clover cleaning chemicals website you can get them on there... under food hygiene chemicals . both are on the website...I am glad you liked the post i wish you all the best in the oven cleaning business..

Was that before or after you steam cleaned it?!
The reason I ask is that I have been considering oven cleaning as an add on to carpets but wanted to find a way round carrying a dip tank as I dont have a suitable vehicle. Probably a non starter I expect.

I havnt used a pro commercial stem cleaner (they cost £2000 plus), but have used a £400 Polti steam cleaner, and caked on carbon would I think still be there after best efforts.

Thought I'd share my squidoo page with you on using soda bicarb to clean an oven.... you'll see from the pics the difference it makes! Ok its still got some work to do on it but hey ho.... http://www.squidoo.com/cleaning-your-oven-with-baking-soda I'm not suggesting people do this in their business as it takes forever but quite a few of my friends are now using soda bicarb as maintenance.

Looking at Richards post reminds me of one I did as part of an EOT clean, it was this thread that inspired me to offer that as an add on, using vanquish, astonish, the ikea boxes, scraper, luck and elbow grease, its really worked out well.
The carbon on the glass door was scraped off, and it had the same look and texture as melted plastic, and peeled off in long strips, never seen anything like it before.

Hd2000 in my tank (sodium hydroxide with soap added) 30 mins in there totally clean with no scrubbing at at. I've tried the Eco route with ovens not for me as your there for ages.
