Hi
Can anyone help me.
A company that has ask us to quote for a regular office clean and window clean.
They have also asked us to provide them with a risk assessment for this work.
Does anyone have a copy or any ideas how to obtain one
Many thanks

Should be easy enough Steve to apply the basics from your carpet cleaning risk asessment to window cleaning ? Ours are quite detailed and I can adapt them as I see fit per client I paid for them many years ago - you can have our h and s guys details if you like I'm sure he'd be able to sort you out for a reasonable cost he's ( self employed ) . Only reason I'm not sending you ours is I have no idea what the job entails - you know like roof access minimum ladder use , type of poles , any power lines near by , access platforms required ? The amount of entrances that need coming due to trip and slip hazard - all to name but a few ! Plus if you left any of my details on there is look like I'd assed the job in question . Oh and don't for get a method statement too both should be supplied as stranded .

A blank risk assessment ? Regardless of the amount of employees - I doubt that - why bother at all if your not going to fill it in or worse look like you are not compitant enough to risk assess a site and provide the method of works ? It's fairly basic stuff any way for most sites , mainly covered above but not exclusively by my earlier post .

Hse refers to risk assessment for employees and not writing anything down if you have less than 5 employees . http://www.hse.gov.uk/risk/controlling-risks.htm I'm guessing that's the link you found -

That being said I would not want to be the supplier that says to his customer I've less than 5 employees so we don't fill out risk assessments ? Lol . If there filled out and filed before works and there is a problem you can prove you've worked to your paper work risk method and h and s policy , blank paper didn't cover any thing . I personally think that is terrible clause on the h and s web site and just encourages lazy excuses for a few minutes work . If you discuss the risks on site why wouldnt you make a written record ? .

Grow up ? Lol . Yes he asked for advise and I gave him good advise - safe advice sound advise . There is no law that says you should look both ways before crossing the roads ... But let's face it every body knows you should so why would any one point out that you don't need to . It's a free world and if you ask many for advice your going to get some different answers . It won't effect me , my business or my staff if nobody takes my advice or yours . I always help others where I can . I don't think the advice you gave would be of much benefit to Steve apart from to make hi look like a rite wallie if he took it when dealing with customers .
